Grasshopper Manufacture has shown off twenty minutes of gameplay footage of No More Heroes 3 during the Nintendo Treehouse broadcast.

Posted to the official Nintendo YouTube channel, the footage takes us through a good portion of hack and slash action from the upcoming game. Travis returns with his trusty Beam Katana, this time fighting aliens as he tries to ascend the Galactic Superhero Rankings.

You’ll be combining basic moves, heavy moves, blocks and rolls to defeat enemies. If you’re feeling extra fancy, you can utilize the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers to use the game’s motion controls too. Later on, we get a look at one of the game’s signature boss battles, with Gold Joe requiring fancy footwork to repel him into an electrical fence to defeat him.

We also get a tour of the No More Heroes Hotel, which acts as a sort of base of operations. Naturally, there’s plenty of nods to classic retro gaming, and you can also replay boss battles from here to upgrade your Death Glove which returns from 2018’s Travis Strikes Again. On top of that, there’s also a minigame to play with Travis’ cat Jean because, why not?

The broadcast concludes with a message from Suda 51 himself, with the director confirming  volunteer mission side-quests. In addition, Travis will also be able to navigate the game’s open world on his custom motorcycle, the Demzamtiger.

You can check out the No More Heroes 3 gameplay footage for yourself below. The game is set to launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on August 27.
