The latest major update for No Man’s Sky Fractal is here and it goes live today (22/02/2023). The primary focus of this game is to make it an even better experience in VR, which has coincided with the release of the PlayStation VR 2.

Not only does this update bring a host of optimisation and features for VR, but there is also plenty of new things for non VR players to sink their teeth into.

Including a new vehicle, as well as some changes for the Nintendo Switch version of the game too. Here is everything announced for No Man’s Sky in the Fractal update. 

No Man’s Sky Fractal Update: PSVR 2 

The latest update has a big focus on VR, with PSVR 2 being partly responsible for that. This platform will now offer  the game with better textures, improved particle rendering, terrain tessellation effects, increased planetary details and more.

According to the official press release “these improvements, combined with support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 technology on PlayStation technology, create the best-looking PSVR experience yet.

There have also been some gameplay changes as part of the VR over haul, now when playing with a controller tracked in each hand, the Personal Forcefield will be in your non-dominant hand allowing for a more accurate defence against enemy fire. There have also been improvements to the UI in VR. 

No Man’s Sky Fractal Update: Nintendo Switch 

The Nintendo Switch version of the game is also getting some new extras with this update. For the first time Switch players will get access to the Nexus and Quicksilver missions, as well as the “Trace of Metal” storyline.
