Hello Games is releasing the Endurance update for No Man’s Sky today, adding new and overhauled freighter customisation.

This means that you will be able to tinker with your enormous vessels to transform them impressive bases and such. Check out the new trailer below:

The description reads:

“No Man’s Sky’s 20th free update, Endurance, overhauls the experience of being a freighter captain, with a total rework for space bases that allows players to build visually spectacular structures upon their very own capital ship.”

The Endurance D.L.C. comes not too soon after the Leviathan update, which released in May. That update was notable for adding space whales into the game. Hello Games has done very well to support the game, free of charge, since its release, in 2016.

In other recent No Man’s Sky news, the game will soon be on its way to the Switch. Bandai Namco announced that it is publishing the Switch port, and that it will be out on October 7th.

No Man’s Sky first launched in 2016, on PlayStation 4 and PC, and on Xbox One two years later. In VideoGamer’s review of the game, Jamie Trinca said:

“The design decisions you can point to as flaws are always at least understandable. It’s full of great ideas and great moments, regardless of how long it takes for you to get fed up of them. So while it’s difficult to give it a glowing recommendation, it’s impossible to hate. On balance, it succeeds—for just long enough to be worth going in.”
