Hello Games has dropped another huge update for space exploration adventure No Man’s Sky, named the Sentinel update.
The latest chapter centres around overhauling the game’s combat system. It includes the addition of three new Sentinel Drone enemies, that you’ll be able to encounter on your expeditions. Combat Drones use a variety of weapons, Repair Drones do…exactly as they sound, and Summoner Drones call in waves of reinforcements. Get through all of them and you might face off against the new high-level Sentinel threat, the Hardframe Battle Mech.
Elsewhere, there’s a new Minotaur AI technology you can build. It basically allows your Exomech to assist you on its own even when you’re outside exploring on foot ala Titanfall. Elsewhere, there’s new weapons and technologies. These include the Neutron Cannon, the Paralysis Mortar, the Impact Igniter and more. There’s also a new Cloaking Device to let you become invisible.
A bunch of new buildings and base building parts have been added, companions have been increased from 6 to 18, bug fixes and a hell of a lot more has also been added in this update. As with previous updates, it’s a big old one with far too much to list here. However, you can find the full list of changes and more over on the No Man’s Sky website.
The update also comes ahead of the game heading to the Nintendo Switch this summer. You can check out a trailer for the No Man’s Sky Sentinel update below. It’s available right now in the game on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
