Square Enix has teased a mysterious new card-based RPG title named Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars.

While details are incredibly slim, we’re told the project will be a “unique table-top RPG video game built of cards.” The press release also promises that the game will “spark players imagination and open their minds to a different way of storytelling as the narrative unfold.”

Perhaps most excitingly, some of the names behind the project include several alumni from the NieR and Drakengard teams. These include creative director Yoko Taro and executive director Yosuke Saito. They’ll be joined on the project by character designer Kimihiko Fujisaka and music will be provided by Keiichi Okabe.

It seems to be early days for the project, with no mention of a release date or formats. Yoko Taro has confirmed, however, that this is not a new entry in the Drakengard series, nor is it a social game. The most recent Yoko Taro project prior to this was April’s launch of NieR Replicant. You can read our review of that just over here.

Hopefully, we’ll hear more from Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars in the future. Until then, check out the teaser trailer for yourself down below.
