We are soon set to get 2K’s newest installment of their annual basketball franchise. 2K24 was enjoyed by many, and it’s expected NBA 2K25 will be another great experience for fans to live the dream of becoming a basketball legend. The NBA 2K25 early access release date and time countdown is almost over, and here you will find all of the pre-order bonuses along with what you need to do to play early.
Take-Two confirmed the release date for NBA 2K25 back in July where they also announced the cover stars as Jayson Tatum and A’Ja Wilson. September is a big month for fans of video games based on sports as there is also the upcoming release of EA Sports FC 25, as well as its free-to-play competitor, UFL.
But, before either FC 25 or UFL arrive, you can get early access to NBA 2K25. The release date and time is official, and you can begin shooting hoops very soon.
NBA 2K25 early access release date
The early access release date for NBA 2K25 is September 4th. This is two days before the regular release planned for September 6th.
Similar to previous years, there is again last-gen editions for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with current-gen versions kept to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Per the FAQ, there is crossplay, but again it’s reserved for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
There is also cross-progression for MyTeam and your VC Wallet, but this is restricted to each platform’s specific consoles. This means cross-progression only applies to PS4 and PS5 for PlayStation, and ditto for Xbox with the Xbox One and Series X/S.
When does NBA 2K25 early access come out?
The release time for when NBA 2K25 early access will come out is 5AM PT/8AM ET/1PM BST on September 4th.
All of the above hours have been confirmed in the early tip-off FAQ. It’s a simultaneous launch for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Unfortunately, because it’s a simultaneous global launch, you will not be able to pull off the New Zealand release time trick unlike previous years.

How to play early
You simply need to pre-order NBA 2K25 before September 6th to play early access. It is possible for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC, and, per the early tip-off FAQ, it is “applicable to all editions of the game”.
It’s confirmed that “Those who have already pre-ordered… will automatically receive this benefit”. Again, per the FAQ, the last day you can pre-order to receive premature gateway to gameplay is September 5th.
