A playable intro to NBA 2K17 is now available to download on PS4 and Xbox One, letting players try out the opening moments of the game’s career mode ahead of its release.

NBA 2K17: The Prelude gives players a head start to the game’s MyCAREER mode, allowing them to pick their college and play before transferring progress over to the final game. Sounds worth doing to me.

“For the first time in NBA 2K history, gamers – both new and old – will get to start their MyCAREER experience prior to the game’s launch on September 20 through ‘The Prelude’,” says 2K, “which was designed specifically to give them an introduction to NBA 2K’s legendary MyCAREER mode, placing the user at the center of an epic basketball story.”

In addition, a new MyNBA2K17 app is also available to download on iOS and Android, which lets you scan in your face and import it directly into the game.

“MyNBA2K17 will let you connect with NBA 2K17 wherever you are – the bus, subway, the court, a store, anywhere. The mobile companion app also features facial scanning technology which imports your likeness directly to the game.”

NBA 2K17 releases September 20, but pre-order customers can get the game later this week on September 16. To download The Prelude, head through to the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store.
