Hades 2 is now available in early access and has been highly anticipated for a long time, following the success of the first game which scored an impressive 93% across all platforms on Metacritic. The game marks the first time that Supergiant Games has released a sequel and it aims to build upon the original rogue-like dungeon crawler while elevating it with updated gameplay and mechanics for an endless replayable experience.

The original Hades was released on all current platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. So, will Hades 2 receive the same treatment and launch on the Nintendo Switch? Especially with the upcoming Switch 2 on the horizon?

The original Hades game launched on Nintendo Switch alongside PC when it left early access in September 2020, whereas it wasn’t released on PlayStation and Xbox until the following year. Currently, there is no expected release date for when Hades 2 will leave early and launch on consoles. However, Hades 2 will likely be released on the Nintendo Switch alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to be launching in either late 2024 or early 2025, so it is possible that it could skip the original console in favor of the newer platform.

When it comes to the PC requirements, the minimum requirements for Hades 2 match the recommended requirements for the first game, which are both incredibly reasonable and PCs from over a decade ago could run the game with few issues, so there is no reason that the game couldn’t run on the Nintendo Switch too. The minimum requirements state a Dual Core 2.4 GHz CPU and Nvidia GTX 950 from 2015, while the recommended call for a Quad Core 2.4ghz and more modern Nvidia RTX 2060 from 2019.
