For the Call of Duty community, Modern Warfare 3 (2023) was supposed to be the biggest CoD release they’ve gotten in a long time but unfortunately, there’s been mostly negative comments on MW3 and it’s not even out yet.

Some players have criticized the game’s $69.99 standard edition price when it could’ve been a DLC. However, the majority of criticism towards MW3 has come from the much-anticipated campaign, which will see Task Force 141 go up against, “The ultimate threat” Makarov

MW3 originals prevail over reboots

According to a recent post on the official Call of Duty Subreddit, most of the community members have heaped praises on the original Modern Warfare games which from the shared images, had better overall ratings as opposed to the rebooted entries.

One user ‘Licensed_Ignorance’ wrote that the original trilogies had better narratives that were satisfying with great characters but as for the reboot, “MW19 at least tried to be a decent campaign, and it more or less succeeded I’d say. MWII tried and failed, and MWIII didn’t even try to begin with,” they wrote.

Another user ‘Drplover69′ also comments, “That’s the problem when mw3 was supposed to be a DLC and they made it a 70 dollar rushed mess instead.”

With around 5k upvotes and more than 500 comments, most community members agree that the reboot simply cannot compare to the original games. With one user ‘Ok_Movie_639′ saying, “They actually put effort into designing MW2019, its setting, characters and the overall story. MWII and MWIII are just poor excuses for sequels.”

Modern Warfare 3 is set to launch on Friday, November 10 and although it’s a little too late for Activision to rewrite the game’s campaign, perhaps Sledgehammer Games can make up for the criticism by giving players a remarkable MW3 multiplayer experience when the game launches.
