*UPDATED* MW2 Season 2 Path of the Ronin Event

The new MW2 season has brought in plenty of new exciting features and events to kick off the latest chapter. Since the theme of Season 2 seems mostly about Japanese culture and lore, it stands to reason that the first in-game celebration would be based around their traditions.

Entitled the Path of the Ronin, the first in-game event of the new season will include a variety of challenges that players can attempt to complete in order to earn unique rewards. So sharpen your blades and steel your minds because we’ll be taking a look at all that you can expect with this upcoming celebration.

When is the MW2 Path of the Ronin event?

The Path of the Ronin event is now live! It began on February 15, 2023 alongside the release of MW2 Season 2. However, the developers have now also announced that a new set of challenges will be arriving with the release of the midseason update. They have also confirmed that the Seven Virtues of Bushido objectives will be removed as soon as Season 2 Reloaded drops.

According to the official developer blog post, these challenges can be undertaken and completed either through MW2 or Warzone 2 so you’ll still be able to enjoy your preferred game mode throughout its duration. It also hasn’t been specified when the event is set to end but since there are only a few challenges, there should be plenty of time for participants to complete all of them.

MW2 Path of the Ronin Event Challenges

Infinity Ward and Raven Software have revealed that the latest set of challenges will center around proficiency with each weapon type.

With that said here are the objectives that players can expect once the midseason update has dropped:

• Assault Rifles: Get 125 headshots (eliminations)
• Battle Rifles: Get 75 headshots
• Submachine Guns: Get 100 headshots
• Light Machine Guns: Get 75 headshots
• Shotguns: Get 50 headshots
• Marksman Rifles: Get 50 headshots
• Sniper Rifles: Get 50 headshots
• Handguns: Get 30 headshots
• Melee: Get 30 kills from behind
• Launcher: Get 40 kills

MW2 Path of the Ronin Event Rewards

Completing all of the previously mentioned tasks will grant successful Operators with specific camo rewards.

Here are all of the prizes you can expect for accomplishing each challenge:

• Winds of Ash Camo – complete challenge for each weapon type
• Blowing Blossoms Camo – complete all ten challenges
• Golden Charm – complete all ten challenges

Although these aren’t as prominent as the previous set of rewards, their exclusivity could still entice many players to try and earn them. It’s also currently unclear if these weapon cosmetics will be available once the event ends, so you may want to acquire them while they’re available.
