Infinity Ward has now revealed their newest high-profile skin that’s set to grace MW2 with its next midseason update. The short clip, which was uploaded through the official CoD Twitter account, featured a few shadowy shots of the upcoming cosmetic.

Although viewers weren’t exactly able to get a good look at the upcoming outfit, a brief glimpse of its silhouette was enough for some players to remark at its uncanny similarity to Shredder, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ main rival.

Fans were also shown other aspects of the iconic villain-themed skin, such as the recognizable three-pronged Kuro Kabuto helmet and threatening Steel Claws. It’s currently unclear if this cosmetic will be able to make use of the latter as melee weapons, though, since the figure was also shown holding the recently introduced Dual Kodachis.

Once most of the outfit had been revealed, a specific date then flashed onto the screen. Many are speculating that this could be the release window of MW2 Season 2 Reloaded. However, since the developers are yet to confirm this as fact, you’ll need to take this information with a grain of salt for now.

Most of the reactions under the announcement post were largely positive, with several players predictably commenting on the skin’s similarity to Shredder’s appearance. However, there were some that still aren’t completely satisfied as there are still a large number of prevalent bugs and exploits within the game.

Hopefully, the arrival of the midseason update can address all of the ongoing issues that the player base is currently struggling with. Because releasing a thematic skin this time around, no matter how appealing it is, may not be enough.
