NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros have confirmed a schedule for the characters in the first Kombat Pack DLC for bloody fighter Mortal Kombat 1, starting with Omni-Man.

The character got his debut trailer at this year’s New York Comic Con, where fans were given a first look at how the animated character will translate to his videogame debut and fit in with the existing Mortal Kombat 1 character list, and immediately fans were struck with how well he’ll fit in thanks to an equally gory trailer. WB has splashed the requisite dough for this crossover, so he’ll be voiced by JK Simmons, the same actor who voices him in the Amazon Prime TV show, and the trailer showed off a whole host of nods to the first series of the show which fans lapped up.

Over on the Mortal Kombat subreddit, fans loved spotting the references, especially in what seems to be some choice additions to the MK1 Fatalities list. “NRS really did the train scene as one of Omni-Man’s fatalities, that’s so incredible (and gory). I love the references this trailer showed us!” said Themanaaah. “That’s gotta be the most painful Fatality I’ve ever seen.” concurs SauloPMB. Along with Omni-Man comes another Kameo in the form of a returning Mortal Kombat character Tremor, with many also hyped to see the earth-power related ninja return to the series.

The announcement also gave us release windows – though not specific release dates – for all the members of the Kombat Pack 1 DLC, which you can see below. It’s believed that Omni-Man’s launch will coincide with the Invincible Season 2 release date of November 3, though this is yet to be confirmed.
