How to unlock all Kameo Fighters in Mortal Kombat 1?

To unlock all Kameo Fighters in Mortal Kombat 1, reach specific account levels by playing the game. While some of them are initially locked, leveling up should unlock them for you as your profile level increases. This can be done by playing the game and its modes like Mortal Kombat 1 invasion.

Here are the levels at which all the Kameo Fighters will be unlocked in MK1:

  • Scorpion – Level 5
  • Sub-Zero – Level 10
  • Kung Lao – Level 15
  • Shujinko – Level 20
  • Motaro – Level 25

Here are the Kameo Fighters that are already unlocked in Mortal Kombat 1:

  • Cyrax
  • Darrius
  • Frost
  • Goro
  • Jax
  • Kano
  • Sareena
  • Sektor
  • Sonya Blade
  • Stryker

How to use Kameo Fighters in MK1?

Characters like Shujinko and Motaro allow you to augment your playstyle with fresh attacks for powerful combos. Sub-Zero grants Arctic Armour to your main player in addition to the Iced Out and Kold Shoulder moves. They have fatalities of their own too. Jax’s Kameo fatality is particularly lethal.

For instance, your character might not have solid projectile attacks for zoning. You could then pick a Kameo fighter with good projectile options to even the odds. Strategizing this way can help you make the most of the main roster characters like Liu Kang, Li Mei, and General Shao. And here’s how to unlock Havik in Mortal Kombat 1 as a main combatant. As for other unlockable characters, Shang Tsung is locked behind pre-ordering the game.

Expect more characters to arrive via DLC. It’ll take a while to reach level 25 but the efforts are worth it. You can earn XP via either single-player or multiplayer modes. This means that clearing Mortal Kombat 1’s chapters will also count towards this. Invasions mode lets you collect neat gear along the way too.

We aren’t sure how additional Kameo Fighters will be unlocked. Here are the fighters we’re expecting to see from the DLC:

  • Tremor
  • Mavado
  • Johnny Cage
  • Ferra
  • Khameleon
