More Helldivers 2 late-game progression is “coming”  to add even more content for dedicated players

As dedicated Helldivers 2 players continue to skyrocket in level count, developer Arrowhead Game Studios is planning to introduce more substantial late-game progression into the game. 

As the team starts to plan new rewards for players who engage heavily in Major Orders, work on new weapon customisation and much more, Arrowhead wants to make late-game progression feel more substantial in the future. 

Helldivers 2 progression will improve 

In a message on the Helldivers 2 Discord server, game director Mauricio Redondo, also known by Sephez, explained that the team is thinking up new ways of giving the game’s most dedicated players more to do. 

In the post, Sephez revealed that Arrowhead has plans in the works for a new form of progression that will give longtime players more to do. 

It’s not known if this will be an entirely new progression system or if the current progression system will simply have more to unlock, but Arrowhead is working on something. 

“Things are coming,” Sephez said. “I don’t want to go into too much detail or promise too much because things can change and dates can move and the worst thing I could do is create expectations we don’t live up to but we know more late game progression is highly requested. I hope this makes sense and doesn’t feel like a nothing burger but we are working towards things.”

Arrowhead has said in the past that it plans to improve Helldivers 2 to the point where it becomes its own sequel. With new enemy types on the way and plans for “Super Epic” storylines well into the future, Helldivers 2 is far, far from over.
