Modern Warfare 2 developers Infinity Ward and Raven Software continue to surprise the player base as they have now decided to introduce a useful daily challenge reward: battle pass tier skips. Even though this new incentive is arriving slightly late to the party, fans are still celebrating the fact that they now have a reason to finish these tasks whereas before, people would often disregard these trivial objectives entirely.
Based on several player reactions below a certain Reddit post, fans have become so astonished at the developers’ sudden change of heart that some are now wondering whether a new team has taken over the reins. One commenter said that “this is actually a good idea,” after which they asked whether Activision hired “new people.” Another responder, on the other hand, applauded the decision by stating that this is a much better prize compared to “the utterly meaningless XP rewards” of the past.
The new daily challenge incentive becomes even more useful because of the meager battle pass experience you earn for each match played. One observant user noted that there’s only “a 48-day window for 100 tiers,” meaning that double XP weekends are often a necessity if you want to get all the rewards that comes with this seasonal microtransaction.
Of course, some responders were inevitably disappointed that tier skips as a reward are being introduced “too late in the game’s lifespan,” but are still hopeful that it will become a series staple moving forward. But sadly, these shiny new features may not matter at all soon as the next series entry entitled Modern Warfare 3 has been all but confirmed at this point in time.
