Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 has been out for a month and players everywhere are busy exploring the game’s new offerings. Plenty of details regarding the current season have already been announced, such as the new operators included and a new Spec Ops mission that’s been added.

Another equally important facet of the game that its players want to know more of are the maps that will be included throughout the season. So without further ado, here are the new maps which CoD will feature in Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2.
New Maps In Season 1 Of Modern Warfare 2
Shoot House
Shoot House, one of the most popular maps in the previous installment, has made a reimagined return in MW2. The classic, three-lane design of the area is as memorable as always along with the structures and objects scattered throughout. As always, this is a map where skirmishes happen often and in quick succession due to its layout.

The main difference from this edition and the previous version is the animation and appearance of the area’s surroundings. Buildings look older and are more decrepit while the broken vehicles strewn about the vicinity appear even more worn down. Shoot House has now been made available as part of the game’s list of playable maps.
Shipment
Shipment is another fan-favorite from the last entry that will be making its return in the game as a part of the Call of Duty Season 01 Reloaded update that is launching tomorrow, December 14th, at 10AM PT / 2PM ET. This is another area where gun fights are even more prevalent due to its cramped design which is accentuated by a lobby full of players.
In this new version of Shipment, the layout has a variety of similarities but also a handful of differences as well. The most noticeable is the darkness along with the rainy atmosphere, casting over a far more drearier feel throughout. Previously, Shipment was lit by sunlight and had a more cleaner look. Whereas the new Shipment map is illuminated by the beams of the boat, highlighting a far more rusted and aged layout.

Will MW2 have the old maps?
Modern Warfare 2 could eventually include the old maps from the 2009 title. As of now, though, Shoot House, and eventually Shipment, are included in the game’s opening season.
How many maps does MW2 have?
MW2 has a total of 14 playable maps in its current map pool. This includes Shipment which will eventually be added mid-season.
