Modern Warfare 2 data miners have reportedly uncovered evidence that points to the impending addition of two hip-hop superstars to the game’s growing list of operators.

According to information shared by trusted CoD news aggregator CharlieIntel, the musicians that’ll soon be making their way into Activision’s latest series entry will allegedly be England-born rapper 21 Savage and creative hip-hop lyricist Nicki Minaj. If these rumors are to be believed, then these collaborations with two of the genre’s most popular names will undoubtedly be one of the game’s stranger partnerships following the aftermath of the equally surprising Kevin Durant and The Boys crossovers.

In Nicki Minaj’s case, however, this wouldn’t be the first time that the Young Money rapper has collaborated with Call of Duty because, as pointed out by CharlieIntel, she was also featured in the live action Modern Warfare 2 trailer that was released back in October 2022. Now, although the star-studded clip also included a bevy of other popular celebrities like Lil Baby, Pete Davidson, and Bukayo Saka, 21 Savage was unfortunately not included in any of the other scenes.

Based on additional details provided, both Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage operator skins will apparently be available once the Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 release date rolls around, which many are expecting to be towards the beginning of August. With this in mind, the arrival of two pop culture icons will surely bring a much-needed influx of players as the latest CoD installment has been growing increasingly stale ahead of the Call of Duty 2023 launch.

But, as always, you’ll need to take these details with a heaping amount of salt for now as this information hasn’t actually been confirmed yet by Activision or the developers. With the game’s fifth season fast approaching, though, we may not have to wait too long until we receive more information on what Infinity Ward and Raven Software’s plans are for the next chapter.
