With the continued speculation as to what the next Call of Duty title will be it has been reported that Activision has been showing off a “Game Preview” of Call of Duty 2023 to NBA players at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas today. Following a number of posts from NBA stars on social media, fans have already begun to speculate as to what could be in store later this year.
Taking to Twitter, @WarzoneTFN shared the following:
It should be noted that the revealed images of the event likely don’t show any Call of Duty 2023 gameplay and instead are showing versions of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. Memphis Grizzlies player Kennedy Chandler took to Instagram to share an image of him playing Warzone saying, “Vibing out with @CallofDuty #CODpartner.” Alongside this, Phoenix Suns player, Ishmail Wainright shared a behind-the-scenes look at the event which included a full display of black basketballs surrounding the Call of Duty logo.
While we don’t know much about the next Call of Duty game yet, Jason Schreier has reported that Sledgehammer Games are the team working on the 2023 entry of the series. Alongside this, Insider Gaming previously reported in May that the next Call of Duty game would be called Modern Warfare 3. We could also see more about the next Call of Duty game soon as Insider Gaming noted a number of keys days related to the 2023 entry in the series including:
- Beta weekend 1 (PS4/PS5) – October 6, 2023 – October 10, 2023
- Beta weekend 2 (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – October 12, 2023 – October 16, 2023
- Campaign Early Access ((PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – November 2, 2023
- Full Release (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – November 10, 2023
While there is no official date for the release of the next Call of Duty game yet it was reportedly leaked during the FTC vs Microsoft case as being scheduled to release in November 2023.
