Infinity Ward has revealed that they’ll finally be making the popular Modern Warfare 2 10v10 mode a permanent part of quickplay once the Season 4 update drops. This announcement has predictably made a large number of fans happy as the larger multiplayer mode has often been more enjoyable than the typical 6v6 offerings that have been in place since launch.

Upon seeing the official statement from Infinity Ward, a large number of players immediately praised the devs for their decision as many had long been asking for its permanent inclusion into the game. So now that the Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 release date is closer than ever, it’ll only be a matter of time until you and your friends can start jumping into these bigger lobbies without having to worry about it being removed.

Of course, there are still a few people that aren’t fully satisfied with how the devs have handled the latest CoD installment so far. One particular Twitter user named Ryan™ even told Infinity Ward that “it took you 7 months to make a playlist permanent. Don’t act like the good guys.” Over on Reddit, another fan seemed to echo this same sentiment as they commented that “they just hate that [the devs] dripfeed this content. Why did it take so long to add 10v10 to quickplay?”

Unfortunately, it seems that for some players, these long-awaited additions are arriving a little too late, especially since a new 2023 CoD title has already been announced. One user named MrEpicFerret is even hoping that the upcoming installment “still works as an extension” to MW2 as they still want to experience these welcome changes “for more than 4 months.”

But with Sledgehammer Games set to take over development duties for the next series entry, the gameplay and features included with it may force CoD fans to abandon Modern Warfare 2 entirely once it gets released. Hopefully, that isn’t the case as it seems that Infinity Ward and Raven Software still have plenty of tricks up their sleeves. For now, though, only time will tell if these changes will be enough to entice people to keep playing MW2.
