Insomniac’s upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game just got some exciting news in the narrative department.

As spotted by forum users on Resetera, Walt Williams has announced on Twitter that he’s now the game’s Narrative Director. Williams was already the game’s lead writer, and it looks like he’ll be taking on more narrative responsibilities going forward. The news is particularly exciting, as he was also responsible for the much-praised story in 2012’s Spec Ops: The Line.

The news actually comes amidst a multitude of promotions at developer & PlayStation first party studio Insomniac Games. Push Square spotted a number of these, including Mary Kenney’s upgrade to the Senior Writer position. Her credits also include writer on the excellent Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Speaking of Spidey, two more staff have found themselves promoted on sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Lindsay Thompson is now the game’s Lead Animator – and given she also worked on the BAFTA-award winning animation for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, that’s a great get. Joining her will be James Ham, who’s also been promoted to the same role.

Insomniac announced both Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine together back in September of last year. The former is currently pushing for a 2023 launch on PlayStation 5, while Logan’s upcoming adventure doesn’t have a date yet. With this week’s news though, we’re certainly excited to hear more soon, Bub.
