After a few beta-test runs, Marvel Rivals will be ready for release soon, much to the joy of comic book fans everywhere. Launching with 33 well-known characters at the beginning, the game is an Overwatch-style team-based hero shooter. With clearly defined roles, flashy superpowers, and snappy combat, the Marvel Rivals is a bright and colourful romp. So when can you get your hands on it? 

What is the Marvel Rivals release date and time?

Marvel Rivals is set to release on December 5 in the Americas and December 6 for the rest of the world. There’s no Hydra conspiracy here, it’s simply due to how time zones work. For release times, we’ve detailed several regions in our table below:

Which platforms is Marvel Rivals releasing on?

Marvel Rivals is going to be available on PC through Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s unlikely that the game will be available on the older consoles, due to hardware limitations.

Can you preload Marvel Rivals?

Yes, you can preload Marvel Rivals on all platforms. The preloads are already open, and since the game weighs around 70 GB, it’s a good idea to pre-download it ahead of launch. That way, you’ll likely only have to download a small launch patch when it releases, so you’ll be ready to jump into action asap.

Is Marvel Rivals free to play?

Yes, Marvel Rivals will be fully free to play from the start. The game has a microtransaction store, which features skins and other cosmetics. For example, most superheroes will have alternative costumes, ranging from some classic designs we’ve seen before in comics, or different takes, “what-if” outfits and more.
