Marvel Rivals Season 2 details
The patch notes provided a decent glimpse into what’s expected in this season – as well as a number of nerfs and buffs. As per Season 1, there will be a mid-season refresh, which means we can expect this to land around the middle of May. The biggest additions to Rivals this Season include a new hero in Emma Frost and then there’s the all-new Domination map Hellfire Gala: Krakoa, which is based on the mutant homeland’s grandest event from modern Marvel comics.
Elsewhere, players will get a new Battle Pass, which will bring a number of skins with it, while PC players will be able to try an ‘experimental’ feature called Switch Shader Compilation Mode, which is designed to reduce memory usage on systems with 16 GB of RAM or less.
The upcoming Marvel Rivals season will completely shift the meta, and we expect new heroes to emerge at the top of the leaderboard. Balance changes will kick in the moment the season starts, and it will be interesting to see how the community will adjust to them. Besides regular buffs and nerfs, the season brings new Team-Up abilities and combos, which will certainly impact team compositions.
Finally, the upcoming season brings numerous free skins in Marvel Rivals, including two from the new Battle Pass.
