Ubisoft has announced Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

During the Ubisoft Forward showcase, the announcement included a trailer, showing off its Super Mario Galaxy touches.

Check out the trailer:

The description reads:

“Team up with Mario, Rabbid Peach, and their friends on a mission to save the galaxy! Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, coming 2022 on Nintendo Switch.”

As you can see, the game features numerous details plucked from Galaxy. There are Rabbid versions of the Luma (those little chubby star fellows), and of Rosalina, the princess.

Unfortunately, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope leaked before the presentation, via a post on the official Nintendo website. The leak included a blurb as well:

“Team up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and their friends on a galactic journey to defeat a malevolent entity and save your Spark companions. Explore planets throughout the galaxy as you uncover mysterious secrets and compelling quests!”

In the trailer, we also get a look at the game’s villain, who doesn’t appear to be Rabbid Bowser—as you might think. Curious!

There is no release date for the game yet, but we know that it is coming, to the Nintendo Switch, in 2022.
