Madden 23: TOTY John Madden Cards

Earlier this week on March 8, Madden 23 Ultimate Team (MUT) held a special live stream on Twitch for arguably their biggest and most popular program in the game, Team Of The Year (TOTY). Revealing several new star players, Madden 23 took the ‘special’ part of their stream a step further when they presented for the very first time ever in Madden 23 history, John Madden Ultimate Team cards.

That’s right! Not only is the famous John Madden in Ultimate Team as a coach, but he’s now available as a player as well and is a part of the TOTY Program. This is ground-breaking news for a game that John Madden has been the face of for decades, caping off a tribute-filled edition to the legendary coach and commentator with one special gesture in MUT.

Madden 23: John Madden TOTY Card Edition

The John Madden TOTY feature in Madden 23 Ultimate Team is a special one. As soon as you login, you will first receive Madden’s Out Of Position (OOP) DT card, which consists of a 91 overall rating. This 91 overall version, however, can be upgraded to a 99 overall should you complete its corresponding in-game challenges, which we detail down below.

That said, this is not the only John Madden card you can unlock. In fact, should you complete John Madden’s TOTY player set – which requires you to exchange 2x 98 Overall TOTY Winners or Honorable Mentions – you will receive Madden’s card with his original position at LT. This left tackle version of Madden will easily be one of the best cards in the game, as it comes with all 32 team chemistries.

With two different versions available in MUT, fans have the choice of which Madden 23 card they want to work for and add to their lineups. Madden 23: John Madden TOTY Card Challenges

If you’re more inclined on unlocking the DT OOP card of John Madden in Madden 23 Ultimate Team, you will need to complete a total of eight in-game challenges with the 91 Overall DT John Madden card in your lineup.

Once you complete all eight of these in-game challenges with the 91 overall John Madden card in your lineup, you will be able to upgrade it to a 99 overall.

Here’s what you will need to do:

• Get 20 Sacks with John Madden in your lineup
• Get 40 Sacks with John Madden in your lineup
• Get 200 Tackles with John Madden in your lineup
• Get 400 Tackles with John Madden in your lineup
• Rush for 5,000 Yards with John Madden in your lineup
• Rush for 10,000 Yards with John Madden in your lineup
• Score 100 Touchdowns with John Madden in your lineup
• Score 250 Touchdowns with John Madden in your lineup

Despite the challenge collection requiring quite a bit of time to complete, it’s easy enough to chip away as these stats will apply for any challenges, solo battles, and other competitions you participate in.

As long as you have Madden’s DT card in your lineup, you will slowly but surely complete these challenges with ease.
