CI Games and HEXWORKS have given fans their first look at Lords of the Fallen through a gameplay trailer that showcased the gameâs terrifying bosses. Most of the significant enemiesâ designs are largely reminiscent of the massive, gruesome creatures from other popular Soulslike entries like Bloodborne so players are already itching to get their hands on this upcoming gore-filled creation.
Out of all the enemies shown throughout the clip, the ones that stood out the most were a massive, sharp-taloned beast that could create waves of fire upon striking the ground and an armor-clad being that could very well be the gameâs equivalent to Malenia from Elden Ring. There were also several minor combatants shown throughout the clip that will undoubtedly be making your life a living hell as you progress through the game.
Based on the short plot summary thatâs already been revealed, youâll apparently be able to take on the role of one of the âfabled Dark Crusadersâ who must venture through the land to defeat Adyr, the main antagonist. Youâll also be able to choose from nine character classes along with hundreds of weapons, meaning you should be able to create several unique builds that cater to your preferred style of play.
But aside from a few quick looks at the plot and some action-packed combat scenes, the preview also revealed that the Lords of the Fallen release date is currently slated for October 13th. Much like other recent AAA titles, this ARPG will only be available on current gen consoles including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC so you may want to upgrade beforehand if you havenât done so yet.
Considering this has been in the works for more than a few years now, it seems that CI Games and HEXWORKS are finally satisfied with the current product that they have. However, only time will tell if itâll be accepted by Soulslike fans who have become used to the high bars set by FromSoftware.
