Konami has said that it is preparing to bring back several delisted Metal Gear games. This is in celebration of the series’ thirty-fifth anniversary.

The company announced, on Twitter, that it would be bringing back some of the older games in the series:

“The Metal Gear series, launched on 13 July 1987, celebrates its 35th anniversary today. We are preparing to resume the sale of titles that had been temporarily suspended.”

The titles in question are Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. They were both removed from sale in November, 2021. This was because of archive footage that the games used, which had exceeded its licensed term.

At the time, Konami said, in a statement:

“We sincerely ask for your patience and understanding as we work towards making these products available for purchase once again.”

There are a number of different games that have not been on sale since. These include HD versions, PC versions, and the Vita versions.

In other Metal Gear news, we have yet to hear any more about the rumoured remake of Metal Gear Solid. Along with rumours that Snake Eater was going to get the Triple-A remake treatment. Hopefully, Konami will suddenly surprise us with news that various Metal Gear games are getting remakes. Because, who knows?
