Grand Theft Auto VI was officially revealed one year ago today. Announced 365 days ago, Rockstar Games showed off the upcoming GTA 6 in a spectacular trailer following one of the largest video game leaks of all time.

Since then, fans of the series have been picking the bones of the reveal trailer to find any hints of new information. However, in the year since the game’s official announcement, Rockstar hasn’t let out a peep.

GTA 6 trailer turns one year old

In the 12 months since the GTA 6 reveal, gamers have been holding on for a second trailer. With the game scheduled to release in Fall 2025, players are still hoping to see one more trailer before this year is over, but will they?

Fans have been holding on so much that they even crafted theories for a second trailer released based on the cycle of the moon. While there was some evidence to suggest the GTA moon theory was correct, Rockstar released nothing. To put it in morbid terms, over 55 million people have died since the release of the game’s first trailer.

In a Reddit thread, fans discussed the year they’ve spent pining for information for the next Grand Theft Auto. In fact, the only official information players have received hasn’t come from Rockstar Games, but the game’s publisher.

“365 days. 3+6+5=14. 14th December Trailer 2 release confirmed,” one Reddit user joked. “It’s tomorrow CONFIRMED,” joked another.

Fans have likened the GTA 6 reveal trailer to Bethesda’s infamous reveal of The Elder Scrolls 6, although that comparison is rather disingenuous. After all, TESVI reveal was simply a logo on a pretty background whereas Grand Theft Auto showed off an entire world players will have to explore.

With leaks claiming the next GTA game will be a properly supported game with post-launch story episodes similar to the fourth game, the wait will almost certainly be worth it. After all, when has Rockstar released a bad video game? Well, outside of the atrocious GTA Trilogy remasters? However, even those have been fixed. They even made Table Tennis amazing.
