Now that the game’s early access period is practically here, eager fans can’t help but ask what platforms it’s going to be on. PC users in particular want to know if the highly anticipated cooperative title is going to be playable through Valve’s well-known Steam platform. Will Sons of the Forest be on Steam?
Yes, Sons of the Forest is on Steam and it is currently the only platform that the game is available on at the time of writing. Since the survival horror title is still in its early access period, the developers may have decided to hold off on releasing it on other consoles for now.

Just because it isn’t presently on other systems, however, does not mean that it won’t be included at some point in the future. After all, Endnight Games’ previous strategy with 2014’s The Forest, their first equally popular title, involved releasing it for the PC initially and then following it up with a PS4 launch a few months after.
Of course, this isn’t an indication of the developers plan this time around, although the game’s popularity and cooperative nature does make it ripe for a multi-platform launch. For now, players that are looking to play it immediately will only be able to do so on PC – more specifically on Steam. With Sons of the Forest’s early access period reportedly lasting for half a year, there’ll plenty of time to join in on the heart-pumping survival horror fun.
