Hogwarts Legacy, inspired by the Harry Potter series of books, continues to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year by both casual and hardcore fans alike.

Much like any other popular media adaptation, players are predictably curious about the cast of characters that will be included in the game. People are especially interested in finding out whether Severus Snape is going to be a part of its main roster.

Will Severus Snape be in Hogwarts Legacy?

Unfortunately, Severus Snape will not be involved in the upcoming title because of the timeline in which the game is set in. Since Hogwarts Legacy takes place during the 1800s, most of the characters in the beloved Harry Potter series will not be appearing in the game.

However, there will be a few familiar figures involved throughout its course of events such as Phineas Nigellus Black who will be the headmaster of Hogwarts during this time. Nigellus Black is also notably be played by Simon Pegg, an accomplished actor who has become well-known for his roles in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Professor Matilda Weasley, an ancestor of the Weasley family, also appears in the game and is played by Downton Abbey’s award-winning actress, Lesley Nicol. Based on Harry Potter lore, she was a Transfiguration professor during her time at the academy and also served as Deupty Headmistress. With this in mind, we can expect her to have the same roles in the game.

Though the entire list of characters is yet to be revealed, more information is likely to be disclosed as we get closer to the actual release date itself. This includes more information regarding potential DLC‘s and overall gameplay.
