Character creation and customization have always been big parts of Blizzard’s ever-popular ARPG franchise, so it’s only natural for players to wonder about certain aspects of it. If this is something you’ve been pondering for a while now, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ll be taking a look at the avatar customization options available at the start of the game so you can be prepared before you set off on your journey.

Are Diablo 4 classes gender locked?

The good news is that Diablo 4 classes are not gender-locked so you’ll be free to customize your avatar based on your own preferences. You’ll be able to choose a gender as soon as you create your first characters, which means it’ll be one of the first choices you make as you start your adventure.

Aside from being able to choose a gender, you will also predictably be able to select a skin tone and eye color for the class you’ve chosen. Other elements you’ll be able to change include hair style, facial hair, accessories, and markings. Alternatively, you can also choose a preset appearance if you don’t want to go through the hassle of making a unique figure.

As always, it’s important to note that the weapons and armor you can equip will be determined by the class you choose. Barbarians are often the front liners in groups so it stands to reason that they wear the heaviest equipment. Rogues and Druids, on the other hand, wear much lighter equipment to allow for better movement. Lastly, Necromancers and Sorcerers wear robes to display their magical authority.
