If you haven’t been deterred by the wave of negativity surrounding The First Descendant, you may have already fought a Void Intercept boss battle, like the Hanged Man, during your playthrough. Naturally, these Colossi fights, only unlocked after you complete certain quests, are crucial to your in-game progression since they provide the all-important resource, Amorphous Materials. Of course, since these monstrous mechs pack a punch and have tons of health, you’ll need all the help you can get from your fellow Descendants.

As you’d probably expect, The First Descendant Void Intercept bosses only grow in difficulty the more you progress, and one of the latter Colossi you face, the Hanged Man, is notoriously tough. This means you’ll typically need to enlist the help of others, whether that’s a couple of your friends or players from matchmaking. Unfortunately, the Hanged Man has certain mechanics that require precision and plenty of communication, which is often lacking when you’re matched with randoms.

And, since getting wiped repeatedly is one of the most frustrating experiences in a looter shooter, frustration is starting to reach an all-time high. Just ask Reddit user LegendofBaron, who bluntly said, “[The Hanged Man] fight is insanely stupid to play with randoms.” But it’s not like The First Descendant throws you into these battles without warning. Before facing off with a Colossi, you’re given an overview of their weaknesses and attributes. You can also use your Scan button to check where their weak points are in the fight.

But for some reason, some players seem to ignore these helpful hints entirely, which often leads to previously mentioned frustration. It is worth pointing out, though, that some mechanics in The First Descendant, like the Hyper Cube running in the Hanged Man fight, are challenging to figure out on your own, hence the difficulty with this Void Intercept battle. So, if you want to avoid getting wiped over and over again by this boss, you’ll have to take it upon yourself to be the cube runner if no one else knows what to do.
