Both Epic Games’ Fortnite and Fall Guys are set to see an increase in their microtransaction prices with the company citing inflation and currency fluctuations as the reason for the change. The changes to both of the games’ in-game currency are identical and while online storefronts haven’t updated the price changes they are set to come into effect on July 17, 2023.

In a recent Fortnite blog post and Fall Guys blog post, Epic outlined the changes in pricing players can expect to arrive on July 17. In the UK, the price of 1,000 V-Bucks/1,000 Show-Bucks was originally priced at £6.49 but will now rise to £6.99. Equally, 2,800 V-Buck/2,800 Show-Bucks, which used to cost £15.99, will now cost £17.49. 5,000 V-Bucks/5,000 Show-Bucks will now cost £27.99 instead of £25.99 and 13,500 V-Bucks/13,500 Show-Bucks have risen from £64.99 to £69.99.

On Canada’s side, 1,000 V-Bucks/1,000 Show-Bucks will now cost $11.99 instead of $10.99. 2,800 V-Bucks/2,800 Show-Bucks will set you back $29.99 instead of the previous $26.99. 5,000 V-Bucks/5,000 Show-Bucks will also cost you $47.99 instead of $42.99 while 13,500 V-Bucks/13,500 Show-Bucks will now be priced at $119.99 instead of the original $106.79.

Epic also noted that pricing for the following Fortnite packs will be adjusted when they become available in the future:

  • Dark Reflections
  • Magma Masters
  • Lava Legends
  • Summer Legends
  • Wish, Set, Match Quest Pack.

It should be noted that the price for both Fall Guys’ Fame Pass and Fortnite’s Crew subscription will remain the same. These price changes are set to take effect on July 17, 2023, so if you’re looking to stock up on V-Bucks or Show-Bucks now would be the time to do it.

In other Epic Games news, the Fortnite Kinetic Boomerang has been vaulted and replaced with a Pump Shotgun clone. Alongside this, new Fortnite first-person screenshots claim the mode is finally arriving next season.
