Microsoft has revealed that Hitman developer IO Interactive is currently working on an RPG shooter, temporarily entitled Project Dragon, that could be made an Xbox exclusive once it gets announced.

Based on a report from IGN, news of the upcoming creation from IO Interactive was apparently uncovered after a file containing a record of the studio’s “expected release & previously shipped games” was submitted as evidence for the ongoing FTC vs. Microsoft trial. In addition to the placeholder title being written down, the document entry also included a list of the platforms the game will be compatible with, which included the Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Though details on the upcoming title remain scarce, a 2021 article from Windows Central had already revealed this particular project so dedicated IOI followers may not be surprised to hear of the new fantasy RPG shooter. Nevertheless, fans of the Hitman developer may still be disappointed to hear that the upcoming fantasy RPG project is set to be an Xbox exclusive as most of the previous Agent 47-led installments had been available on the PlayStation.

It’s important to keep in mind, though, that since development of the game is still in its early stages, it could end up being available on the Sony gaming console in the future. But with the release date still yet to be revealed, we’ll just have to wait until Microsoft and IO Interactive decide to give us more information to go off of in the future.
