Following its surprising, albeit successful shadow drop during the beginning of the year, Hi-Fi Rush is finally getting more additional content in the form of its upcoming Arcade Challenge update. This next patch for Tango Gameworks’ critically acclaimed rhythm-based adventure game will introduce two more game modes, five new catchy songs, a bevy of cosmetic options and accessories, and a whole lot more.

However, Hi-Fi Rush game director John Johanas revealed that the new content will only be available once you’ve finished the story completely. Once you have, you’ll be able to unlock an arcade cabinet in the hideout where you can then access the two additional game modes called BPM Rush and Power Up! Tower Up!

The first offering, BPM Rush, is a fast-paced mode that faces you off against waves of enemies while one of the game’s catchy songs plays in the background. As you continue defeating enemies, the music gradually becomes faster and the combatants become more difficult to take down. This means that the longer you play it, the more you’ll have a hard time keeping up with everything being thrown at you.

Power Up! Tower Up!, on the other hand, essentially takes Chai all the way back to the beginning as all of his abilities and upgrades are taken away. As you progress through the tower, however, you’ll be given the chance to regain more skills in order to make progressing a little easier. Keep in mind, though, that as you advance you will eventually face bigger and tougher enemies so you’ll need to choose your upgrades wisely as you get them.

Finally, there will also be a slew of new accessories, items, rewards, and even new outfits for the entire crew that’ll be added together with the patch so you’ll have plenty to look forward to. Unfortunately, the Arcade Challenge update hasn’t been released just yet and you will have to wait until July 5 to get all the new goodies that the team at Tango Gameworks has decided to provide.

While you wait for it to be launched, we suggest checking out the trailer so you can learn even more about the improvements ahead of time. Alternatively, you can check out some of the other big reveals made over the weekend including the announcement of Star Wars Outlaws and the visually stunning preview of the new Fable.
