Helldivers 2 has taken the gaming world by storm since it released in February 2024, with hundreds of thousands of players jumping in every day to fight hordes of Terminids and Automatons. The Helldivers have recently defended Super Earth from the Terminids by eradicating them across various planets as part of the Terminid Control Systems Major Order event. Things haven’t been quite as smooth sailing since as players recently failed a Major Order, but that hasn’t stopped the Helldivers from giving the Terminids hell, and the player stats back it up.

A Helldivers 2 player on Reddit has calculated some interesting stats relating to players’ performance as they defend Super Earth from the never-ending onslaught of Terminids and Automatons. It is estimated that Helldivers have killed approximately 7.4 billion enemies while dying 222.8 million times. This means that Kill/Death ratio for players is a staggering 33.2. Granted, this figure is for killing CPU enemies rather than other players, but it means that players are taking the fight to the Terminids and Automatons and have so far been winning the battle. This has all been achieved by firing 46.7 billion rounds of ammunition, for an average of 6.3 rounds per kill, that’s a lot of lead and firepower.

Of course, these are only estimations and it would be interesting to see what figures Arrowhead Game Studios are tracking, hopefully they release official figures at some point. These figures are only going to increase exponentially as the game sees more than 200,000 concurrent players at any one time on Steam alone and recently passed eight million copies sold just two months after the game launched. Helldivers 2 has become an overnight success and a highlight of 2024 so far along with Palworld and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but it does have some stiff competition with the recently released Dragon’s Dogma 2 which, despite the negative user reviews due to the optional microtransactions, it could be a Game of the Year contender.

If you haven’t jumped into Helldivers 2 yet, now would be a good time to do so as new threats look to be on the horizon in the form of the Illuminate.
