Helldivers 2 has added lots of content since its launch in February. It’s arguably been the most successful and popular new release of 2024 so far, and there is plenty of new content for fans to anticipate in the future. However, while new stuff is appreciated, some fans wish to go backwards to retrieve missed rewards. Fortunately, the new Helldivers 2 CEO has said players will “likely” get another chance to earn missed content and rewards from the past.
Arrowhead has shared when the next Helldivers 2 patch update is coming out. It’s not too far away, but don’t expect the “mother of all patches,” even though there will be some balance changes. In addition to this forthcoming update, the arrival of the Illuminate appears imminent thanks to the emergence of a “black hole“.
We cannot wait for the Illuminate to make their presence known, and we also cannot wait for the next update. While the game has near endless potential for new content, the CEO has told players that old content will likely return.
Helldivers 2 will “likely” circle back to old content
On Twitter, a Helldivers 2 played asked the new Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, if “there can be another chance to get the cape that was at malevelon creek”.
In response, Shams Jorjani said, “We’ll likely circle back on all the content. But I don’t know when/how”. This isn’t a flat out guarantee that players will get the chance to retrieve previously missed content, but at least it’s looking “likely,” as per the CEO.
For those not in the know, Shams Jorjani was announced as the new CEO of Arrowhead in May with Pilestedt taking the role of Chief Creative Officer to spend more time with the development team, along with focusing more on the game and its community.
As for what the future of the game holds, all eyes are currently on the imminent next patch. We don’t know the precise details of what balance changes will be included, but Arrowhead has suggested that the spear will finally be fixed. Arrowhead has also said they want to add an emote wheel with more emotes, and they have also reaffirmed that changes to the Galactic War map are in-development.
