Helldivers 2 is designed to be a team-based game, with up to four players diving into a mission to fight hundreds of enemies. You can also play with less people, and even solo, which is how I often play. But, missions do seems to be the most fun when playing in a group.

U/Glitchy_Boss_Fight took to Reddit to discuss the importance of teamwork in Helldivers 2. Although the game can be played solo, it is designed for co-op play with up to 3 other teammates. In the post, they detail how much players will benefit by playing with others saying “Teamwork is the meta, learn that first folks. The meta to this game is to have a team with a wide variety of options, and to coordinate your stratagems so everyone can plow through the objectives.”

Many players agreed that Helldivers 2 is better when played with a team, with U/SausageBlister saying “I ran 2 full ops with 2 different random teams and we all played together as a team and it was absolutely magnificent. Playing a cooperative team game cooperatively makes the game more fun and less frustrating, plus it just looks more cinematic working as a cohesive unit.”

When working with a team the experience can be much better, although it can be difficult to encounter a great team when playing with randoms. But if you can find there players that you can regularly jump into missions with then you will have a great experience.
