Arrowhead are preparing a new update for Helldivers 2. They’ve discussed this upcoming update with fans on socials, and they have stated that it will be focused on bug fixes as they are “100% aware performance ain’t great” right now. While HD2 fans are anticipating the new patch, Arrowhead has confirmed that there will be no Helldivers 2 update over Easter, meanwhile, they are aiming to improve the “release management cycle” of updates and content.
No Helldivers 2 Easter update
On Discord, a lot of Helldivers 2 fans have been asking when the new update is coming. The developer has already confirmed some fixes that are ready such as issues with anti-aliasing, but they have not shared exactly when the new update will land.
While we still don’t know when the patch will arrive, community manager, Baskinator, has confirmed “no update this week,” meaning April 14th to 20th.
Another user stated “so…update is April 29 then,” to which Baskinator replied, “No… we’re also off on Monday. It’s a super long weekend! I’m going to go outside maybe!”.
Judging by the above message from the community manager, it appears we are not getting an update until at least beyond April 30th. It’s unclear if the community manager misread the message as the user alluding to the Tuesday after Easter weekend, but, right now, the stance is that there is no update for April 29th.
Arrowhead looking to improve “release management cycle”
A growing number of Helldivers 2 fans have become frustrated with the lack of new content and major updates on a regular basis. We should expect a new Warbond to land around May 1st due to the usual six week schedule and Borderline Justice having come out on March 30th, but we still don’t know when the invasion of Super Earth by the Illuminate will finally happen.
Seeing as fans are becoming discontent, it might be good news that Arrowhead have a job opening for a Senior Release Manager. In this job opening, Arrowhead say they are looking to “improve our current release management pipeline by refining processes, defining and setting release standards, and guiding the release management team”.
It also says that the successful candidate will “ensure updates are released on time, meet quality standards, and stay compliant across all platforms and projects”.
There’s no guarantee that this would result in quicker and more consistent updates and flow of content, but hopefully that’s the intent behind the job opening.
