It’s an exciting time for fans of Helldivers 2. The Xbox release is imminent, and it could coincide with a Halo crossover judging by the teases and response from Xbox. With the Xbox release just a couple of weeks away, a supposed PlayStation leak for a Helldivers 2 major update has appeared online and been debunked.
PlayStation possibly leaks next major Helldivers 2 update
As spotted on Reddit in a now deleted post, the PlayStation France account reportedly leaked Helldivers 2 Light of Liberty for August 26th. The post was said to have been deleted by PlayStation France almost immediately, but the alleged tweet was captured by Gamerant.
Below is a Google translation of the purported tweet, although there may be some inaccuracies:
“In darkness, light shines brightest. Join the fight to liberate the depths of dark space! #Helldivers2 “Light of Liberty” available August 26th!”
A major update on August 26th would make sense as it’s the day Helldivers 2 joins Xbox consoles. This is also the same day Gears of War Reloaded joins PS5.
However, prominent HD2 YouTuber, Glitch Unlimited, has helped debunk the leak as fake. In their video, Glitch Unlimited includes screenshots of Discord messages confirming the leak is bogus.
While this PlayStation leak has been debunked, it’s easy to see why some were fooled as back in May, the PlayStation Czech Republic account leaked the name of the Heart of Democracy update for May 20th in an instantly deleted tweet.
