Helldivers 2 players have done a tremendous job fighting off bugs, automatons, and the Illuminate since early 2024, and earlier this year we even beat the Illuminate to defend Super Earth. All of this was done with PS5 and PC players teaming up on the battlefield, and soon we will be treated to the companionship of Xbox players. Another bonus accompanying the Xbox release is the official Halo Warbond, but now we cannot wait for Xbox recruits to arrive as Arrowhead has released their most ridiculous Helldivers 2 Major Order yet.
New Helldivers 2 Major Order is Arrowhead’s most ridiculous yet
As posted on X, Arrowhead has released a new Major Order, and it is yet another Illuminate Invasion. Getting right to the point, the Major Order tasks us mere PS5 and PC soldiers with killing a whopping 1,000,000,000 Illuminate. Yes, that’s right, Arrowhead want us to eliminate without prejudice 1 billion squids.
The reward for completing this Major Order is 55 Warbond Medals and, naturally in the replies, everyone is well aware that this is Arrowhead putting full pressure on the finite number of PS5 and PC players so we are overwhelmed and Xbox players come rescue us similar to Gandalf and his army at the end of The Lord of the Rings Two Towers.
Below is the full Major Order description:
“A third attack has been launched upon our besieged Federation. The Illuminate have joined the Terminids and Automatons in their onslaught of Freedom.
This coordinated tripartite assault represents obvious collusion amongst the mindless enemies of Managed Democracy. A Federation-wide crisis has been declared. Martial law is now in effect on all planets.
As with the other attacks, the Illuminate appear to be funneling massive troop quantities to the front lines. Eliminating 1,000,000,000 of their forces is the only way to stop the invasion.
New Yearning City lies in the direct path of the Illuminate’s projected advance. Millions of citizens face transformation into Voteless monstrosities, or far worse.
The situation is dire. Our forces are stretched beyond their operational limits. We are losing ground rapidly, and kill count projections indicate that losses will reach catastrophic levels by the time the assaults can be stopped.
In light of this situation, High Command has ordered an emergency accelerated deployment of the new Super Destroyers that have been under construction for months. They are 96 hours from mobilization.
Even with an expanded force, the fight will be difficult. Every piece of ground held, every enemy killed, could make the difference.
