The latest Helldivers 2 Major Order was an overwhelming success as the community was able to eradicate 750 million Terminids and 5 million Bile Titans from the galaxy, slowing down the Gloom that has taken over the Terminid Sectors on the map. But, there is no time to rest on our laurels as it is time for the next Major Order to go live and some more liber-tea needs to be served.
Following the completion of the previous Major Order, Super Earth congratulated the community and informed us that our efforts have drastically slowed down the growth of the Gloom saying,
“The Helldivers have successfully exterminated massive swaths of Terminids, including the largest tyrants amongst them, and prevented the spread of the insects to new planets. This inspiring exercise of liberation sends a clear message to our enemies. A message so loud, and so clear, that it needs no explicit articulation.
The growth of the Gloom seems to have slowed. Clearly, the Helldiver show of Freedom was highly effective, intimidating the mindless insects into ceasing the spread of their malevolent, impenetrable cloud.
The Helldivers have once again inspired pride in our citizenry, who report high levels of defiance against the bugs’ cloud-based attempts to terrorize them. The secrets of the Gloom will be revealed to us in time. And even if they are not, we will still destroy it.”

Super Earth then announced the next Major Order, which has tasked players with killing 500 million Automatons, this time sending players to fight the robot army.
“The Ministry of Defense has finalized preparations to augment Super Destroyers with the capability to fire Orbital Napalm Barrages. However, critical shortages of polystyrene foam and scrap metal have caused production to stall.
Every minute these shortages exist, millions of Supercredits and citizen work hours go to waste, an economic drain upon every citizen’s prosperity. They must be rectified immediately.
Fortunately, intel has identified a large Automaton repository of unexpanded polystyrene on Vernen Wells, near the ruins of the destroyed SEAF base on the planet. The Automatons produce this material in massive quantities, without regard for the environmental consequences, to package in-transit units. Scrap metal can be acquired from the Automatons themselves.
Liberate the polystyrene stockpile on Vernen Wells, and collect enough Automaton scrap metal to jump-start Orbital Napalm Barrage production. This environmentally-friendly effort will recycle the brutal instruments of socialist imperialism into increased security for our citizens.”
This new Stratagem sounds incredibly interesting and it could be a great one to use against the Terminids. There are numerous Orbital Barrage Stratagems currently available, which drop bombs in a large area for a set amount of time, causing maximum destruction to the area. This new Stratagem should do the same except leave a trail of fire that will be effective in damaging the Terminids.
After the success of the previous Major Order, the community is on a roll despite the declining player count. It does beg the question though as to how the Helldivers 2 player base was able to take down so many Terminids and Bile Titans while being unsuccessful in eradicating 1.5 billion Automatons and Terminids earlier this month, forcing us to finally accept the Anti-Tank Mines into our inventory.
It will be interesting to see whether players continue to be successful with the Major Orders and push back the Automatons and Terminids and take control of the Galactic War, especially with the recent weapon nerfs seen in the Escalation of Freedom update. Weapons such as the Breaker Incendiary Shotgun were nerfed, with the Arrowhead CEO claiming it was done due to the weapon being too popular. If you’re a player who has seen your loadout decimated by nerfs, now is a good time to switch things up. To help with that, I highly recommend checking out our Helldivers 2 best weapons guide and best armor guide.
