It’s an exciting time to be a fan of Helldivers 2. The release on Xbox consoles is imminent, and Arrowhead are trying to get rid of as many bugs as possible before the game gets into bed with Microsoft. To hype the upcoming release, Arrowhead have released a new trailer, and it seemingly teases a massive collaboration between Helldivers 2 and Halo.
New Helldivers 2 trailer teases Halo crossover
Arrowhead have released a new trailer to hype the upcoming release of Helldivers 2 on Xbox. The release date is August 26th, and Arrowhead’s CEO has said you should “Send your thanks” to PlayStation for the game joining Xbox Series X/S.
While most of the trailer is just typical HD2 action, the ending teases a collaboration with Halo. As noted by a lot of people on the helldivers subreddit, the ending of the trailer plays Halo 3 ODST Rain.
Even prominent leaker, Iron_S1ghts, has pointed out the tease on X, posting an image of Halo as part of quote tweet for the trailer.
This doesn’t confirm that a Halo crossover is happening, but it is seemingly being teased. Judging by Arrowhead’s typical release schedule, the next Helldivers 2 Warbond should come out August 28th, the same week HD2 lands on Xbox consoles.
Warbonds are typically revealed one week in advance of the release, so it’s possible we could get a Halo Warbond confirmed on August 21st. We’re massively excited, and we do hope to see Halo in HD2 as it is arguably Xbox’s flagship IP.
