While we have stuff to look forward to for the future of Helldivers 2 such as the imminent release on Xbox consoles, right now Arrowhead personnel are taking a well-deserved two week hiatus. Fortunately, at the start of their break, the developer has left a new free reward for Helldivers 2 players to grab today.
Arrowhead deliver new Helldivers 2 free reward
As announced on Discord, starting today, Helldivers 2 players can grab a new free reward. The reward is another cape, and it is called Ingress-81.
Regarding why we’re being treated to this free cape, it’s to honor “those who bravely worked together many long hours to bring Station-81 back online in May”. While you can retrieve the cape starting now, it may appear in-game at different times for individuals due to distribution.
This is the third free cape HD2 players have received recently. We were just treated to the long-awaited review bomb cape not too long ago, and before that there was another free cape for winning the battle of Super Earth.
As for this cape, this is a real beauty being offered by Arrowhead. It is a slick purple, and right in the centre at the very top is the Meridian Black Hole. It’s certainly an eye catcher, so make sure to claim it.
We don’t know if this free cape and others will be available for Xbox players when they join the battlefield on August 26th. While the Xbox release in late-August is exciting, what’s also interesting is that its release should coincide with the next Warbond after Control Group, meaning the next Warbond could be Arrowhead’s biggest yet.
