There is plenty to look forward to for Helldivers 2 in the future. Arrowhead has confirmed that a highly requested feature is coming, but they are “not rushing until it’s in a good place”. Meanwhile, the game is also scheduled to come out for Xbox on August 26th, which should coincide with the release of the next Warbond in the same week judging by Arrowhead’s typical release schedule. While this is all stuff to look forward to next month, the developer has also shared plans for their next update in an apology for not leaving Helldivers 2 “in tip top shape” before embarking to the beach on vacation.

On the Helldivers Discord, Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, was approached with a message saying, “PS5 dive loading screen is stopping me and others playing, I don’t want to crash and burn my Ps5 thank you”. The user asked, “You got a skeleton crew working on stuff still or are you all on holidays?”.
We know that the bulk of the Arrowhead team are taking a well-deserved vacation, and Jorjani revealed that “Most people are back the 4th” of August. The CEO also said, “sorry for the inconvenience” while acknowledging that the studio is aware “the game isn’t in tip top shape right now”. In another message, Jorjani stated that Arrowhead “should have left things in a better state with the last update”.
Along with revealing when the bulk of the Arrowhead crew will be back, Jorjani also shared that plans for the next update include “100% [focus] on bug fixing and optimization”. There’s no more elaboration from Jorjani, but balance developer, the Alexus, has previously alluded to a buff for the Control Group Warbond’s Epoch after admitting its sliders are “too much,” before the known issues web page stated its values are “incorrect”.
We don’t know when the next update will come out other than after August 4th. It could possibly arrive the week of Arrowhead’s return, or it could be any other week leading up to the game’s release on Xbox consoles.
With the developer “focusing 100% on bug fixing and optimization,” you should only have until the next update to keep exploiting the bug that lets you become completely invisible to enemies. There are hazardous bugs in the game that need to be ironed out, but this is at least a fun and harmless glitch for players to cheese.
In addition to when Arrowhead are back from their deserved vacation, Jorjani has promised that he “won’t rest” until the most exciting weapon to have leaked is part of every player’s arsenal.
