Arrowhead has just recently released update 01.003.200, and now they are set to drop the newest Warbond before Helldivers 2 joins Xbox consoles. Arrowhead personnel have said it is their “favourite” Warbond so far, and it’s easy to see why as everything included looks fantastic. Here you will find the release date and time countdown for when the Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond is expected to come out, and you’ll also find leaks and everything else you need to know.
Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond release date
The release date for the Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond is July 17th. This announcement was shared by Arrowhead on the PlayStation Blog.
This Warbond is dropping slightly earlier than expected. The previous bundle, Force of Law, came out on June 12th, and there’s usually a gap of six-to-seven weeks between packages. While we were expecting Arrowhead’s newest bundle to drop roughly around July 24th, it’s good news that we’re getting it a week early.
Based off the typical six weeks schedule, Arrowhead’s next Warbond after Control Group could come out on August 28th. This is interesting because HD2 comes out on Xbox consoles on August 26th, meaning we could potentially be treated to an Xbox-themed WB.
When does the Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond come out?
The expected release time for when the Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond will come out is 2AM PT, 5AM ET, and 10AM BST on July 17th.
All the above hours are usually when HD2 updates and Warbonds come out. However, they have sometimes arrived later than usual, so expect the new bundle to drop anywhere between the above hours to 5AM PT, 8AM ET, and 1PM BST.
Expected Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond release time US
- 2AM-5AM PT on Thursday, July 17th
- 5AM-8AM ET on Thursday, July 17th
Expected release time UK
- 10AM-1PM BST on Thursday, July 17th
Countdown
Below is a countdown to when the bundle is expected to release:
New HD2 weapons and armor:
Below is all the new weapons and armor included in the upcoming HD2 Warbond:
- Primary weapon – VG-70 Variable
- Stratagem – Plas-45 Epoch
- Stratagem – Lift-182 Warp Pack
- Stratagem – A/LAS-98 Laser Sentry
- Utilities – G-31 Arc
- Armor – AD-49 Apollonian
- Armor – AD-26 Bleeding Edge
- Cape/Player Banner – Conductor of Brilliance
- Cape/Player Banner – Over Artifice Triumphant
- Emote – Protect Eardrums
- Armor Passive – Adreno-defibrillator
- Player Title – Exemplary Subject
Per Arrowhead, the VG-70 Variable is described as a “seven-barrelled volley gun with three different firing modes”. These are “Auto, which has three selectable RPM values; Volley, which fires a single shot from each barrel at once; and Total, which fires all remaining ammunition in one go”.
The G-31 Arc is a new utility, and it “bounces while discharging electricity that strikes enemies (and Helldivers) in proximity”. As for the Plas-45 Epoch Stratagem, this is a “support weapon which charges plasma into a focused sphere which is then fired”.
For the A/LAS-98 Laser Sentry, Arrowhead reports that the “ammunition canisters on standard turrets have been replaced with a supersized heatsink, allowing the potential for infinite laser firing”. However, while infinite laser firing is possible, there is the danger of the turret overheating and exploding if the laser is continuously active with no cooldown.
The final new stratagem included in the Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond is the LIFT-182 Warp Pack. Per Arrowhead, “R&D has harnessed the power of Dark Fluid to generate a (somewhat) stable wormhole on demand,” and, “Once the wormhole is active, wearers can teleport short distances with no cooldown between jumps”.
Finally, moving onto the armor, the AD-26 Bleeding Edge allows for protection and greater ease of movement, meanwhile, the AD-49 Apollonian heavy armor is “meant to assist you with the perils of evaluating all this new equipment”. Both these armors are accompanied by new capes as well as the armor passive, Adreno-defibrillator. This new passive “activates and revives the user to full health” after falling in battle.
