We won’t be receiving any new content or updates for Helldivers 2 until Arrowhead personnel are back from their well-deserved annual break. When the developers are back, what we can look forward to is the launch on Xbox consoles as well as what could possibly be Arrowhead’s biggest Warbond yet. While all of this is exciting, there is another highly requested feature coming to the game, but Arrowhead “want to take extra care” before finally releasing it into the wild for Helldivers 2 players.
Helldivers 2 devs “want to take extra care” with highly requested feature
On Discord, Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, was asked, “Any chance after the bug fixes and optimization that you guys might be open to allowing us to customize our armor colors”. The user added, “Personally it’s my most wanted feature, I keep asking for it in the surveys”.
Jorjani acknowledged that Arrowhead are aware it’s “high on the list” of most requested features, but the developer “want to take extra care”. This means they are “Not rushing it until it’s in a good place”.
The developers have repeatedly been asked about armor customisation in the past. As far back as November 2024, Arrowhead CCO, Pilestedt, said, “We are looking into it”.
Meanwhile, there have previously been leaks of an armor customisation system in-development. Leaker, Iron_S1ghts, shared “Adaptive textures that can be applied to most armor” as part of a feature that “works very similarly to the Weapon Skin system”.
Unfortunately, there’s no ETA for when armor customisation will be added to the game. It’s possible it might not even arrive until 2026, but here’s hoping it is introduced sooner rather than later.
