Halo Infinite Season 4 is finally available, and despite the sad news that future seasonal narrative cutscenes won’t be continuing, Infection is back and players are loving it. Joining the new maps, equipment and cosmetics, some players are heralding this version of Infection as the best the series has ever seen.

Taking to Reddit, the Halo community has been engaged in a lengthy discourse after use DaBooch69 posted, “This new Infection is *in my opinion* VASTLY superior to the past versions.” Diving into greater detail in their post, they noted that the fast-paced nature of Halo Infinite’s Infection mode leads to fewer players camping in one area for an entire match. DaBooch described the speed of the infected in the new mode as, “like Nascars.” While there are camping spots present in the game, the new open areas in the updated maps lead to there being sometimes three entry points to any one area, ensuring the infected aren’t just walking straight into a firing line.

The additions of new equipment and the existing Shroud Screen ensure the infected have a multitude of areas to advance from, which overall has led to players like DaBooch describing the mode as “a blast.” Another player noted that while they still love the old Infection, “this new one is super addicting to play and I like it a lot more. It finally doesn’t feel like s**t to be an infected.”
