Based on its initial description, the Gran Turismo movie will be an adaptation of Jann Mardenborough’s real life story. For those that aren’t familiar, Mardenborough was initially a Gran Turismo player that had no prior experience with professional racing. However, his skill in Sony’s famed title helped him win a series of Nissan competitions, which eventually led to him becoming an actual race car driver.

Though not much was shown in the clips that were exhibited during the preview, viewers were still able to get a good look at the fast-paced cinematography that’s present throughout the movie.

As director Neill Blomkamp mentioned during the reveal, some of the shots they filmed will feature POVs that may be familiar to veteran players of the game. This includes the famous grill racing angle, the first-person view from within the car, and the third person angle from behind the vehicle. The three main stars in the film also make appearances throughout the course of the sneak peek. Archie Madekwe plays the role of the main character, Jann Mardenborough, as he navigates the action-packed world of professional racing.
