UK broadcaster Channel 4 has announced its hosts for its upcoming reboot of classic 90s video games television show GamesMaster.

As announced by GamesRadar, the new show will be fronted by Robert Florence, Frankie Ward and Ty Logan. Florence is a Scottish comedian perhaps best known for sitcom Burnistoun and gaming-related shows Consolevania and VideoGaiden. Frankie Ward is a prominent eSports presenter and interviewer, while Ty Logan is an actor and writer recently named as a ‘Face of the Future’ in E4’s own Academy scheme.

All three provided quotes on their appointments. Florence said he was “hugely honoured that I’ve been trusted with ushering a new generation of challengers to their glory or humiliation, under the unflinching gaze of the GamesMaster.” Ward added “I couldn’t be more excited to be part of the GamesMaster team, especially as the one thing I love almost as much as playing games is watching other people play them – and believe me when I say I take the art of celebrating their triumphs and failures very seriously indeed.”

Logan is equally as excited to be named as part of the line-up too. “I’m so excited to be joining the presenter team on GamesMaster. From being an E4 Face of the Future to fronting such a brilliant show, with this incredible team, is a dream come true. Let’s go!”

It first came to light that Channel 4 were looking to reboot the GamesMaster TV show after 23 years back in February. The series will be produced in partnership with the Oculus Quest 2 and will comprise of three sixty minute episodes. While no specific date has been given, they’ll first be shown on E4’s YouTube channel. The episodes will then be broadcast later this year on the traditional E4 channel.
