After a few years of Playground at the wheel, Turn 10 are back in the driving seat for the latest Forza Motorsport which is about to leave the starting line soon.

Rather than the music-cross-racing festival of the Horizon subseries, Forza Motorsport is more of a simulation and is of course where the series started. However, although this is technically Forza Motorsport 8 or the 2023 version, the team have decided to forgo a number and are keeping the name just the simple Forza Motorsport. If you’re curious about a Forza Motorsport Game Pass inclusion, then we’ve got you covered, but if you simply want to know about the game’s release date, though, then keep reading to find out.

Forza Motorsport release date

The Forza Motorsport release date will be taking place on October 10, 2023. The game’s launch date was finally confirmed at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2023, despite having first been announced all the way back in 2020. There’ll also be an early access period, for those who opt for the game’s Premium Edition which allows them to play five days earlier on October 5.

Forza Motorsport new features

There’ll be 20 completely new tracks that have been rebuilt from the ground up in this iteration, alongside five all-new, never-before-seen courses debuting for the first time in a Forza Motorsport. Naturally, these will feature “fully dynamic time-of-day” changes that include the weather, living crowds, and even react to temperature changes.

We also got news of the game’s new single-player campaign – which will be known as the Builders Cup Career Mode, which the team is set to reveal as part of a full Forza Monthly livestream this Tuesday, following the Xbox Games Showcase Extended show.

Previously, the developers have claimed their ambitious title will feature over 500 unique vehicles on launch day. Gabriel Garcia, the vehicle art director of the game, noted that in addition to the large number of vehicles available within, more than 800 unique upgrades can also be applied to them. There will also be more than 100 newly added race cars to the Forza Motorsport roster, which is the most they’ve ever featured in an installment.

Multiple audio improvements and more than 20 unique location additions will also be introduced to the latest Forza title once it’s released. All of these features and more can be experienced in Forza Motorsport’s all-new online racing mode and their refreshed building-focused single-player career mode.

Forza Motorsport will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC from October 10. There’ll also be five days of early access from October 5 for those who plump for the game’s Premium Edition. Just as with Forza Horizon 5, there’ll also be a Premium Add-Ons bundle that those getting the game via Xbox Game Pass will be able to upgrade to if they want to get in on that early access.
